On Tuesday, January 12th, 2010 a devastating earthquake struck near Port-au-Prince Haiti killing hundreds of thousands of children and adults, leaving even more homeless, without food, water, medical attention, sanitation and living in the most desperate conditions imaginable.
This has been the worst earthquake to hit this area in over 200 years and the infrastructure was not prepared for such damage nor was the economic condition of this very poor country able to respond. As many as 3 million people have been affected as well as tens of thousands of American citizens who are in Haiti.
